Privacy Policy for StrikeLines

StrikeLines (the “App”) is provided by StrikeLines Tampa LLC and/or StrikeLines Pensacola LLC (“we”, “us”, or “our”). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. This Policy applies to both Android and iOS versions of the App.
- Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account details (email and user ID) when signing in with your StrikeLines account.
- User content such as tracks, waypoints, and imported/exported GPX files. This information is stored only on your device and is not sent to our servers.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device and usage data (device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, performance data).
- Location data (foreground and background) for navigation, track recording, and waypoint navigation.
- Diagnostics via Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics.
1.3 Information from Third Parties / SDKs
- Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics: usage statistics, crash reports.
- Shake SDK: in-app bug reporting.
- Apple / Google app services: app distribution and updates.
- How We Use Your Information
We use information to:
- Authenticate users and enable access to purchased charts.
- Provide offline maps, waypoints, and track management.
- Enable navigation features and accurate GPS tracking.
- Improve reliability, fix bugs, and monitor performance.
- Process GPX import/export functionality (all handled locally).
- Communicate support updates and bug reports.
- Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)
- Performance of a contract: account features, purchased maps.
- Legitimate interests: app improvement, preventing misuse.
- Consent: precise location, background tracking, notifications.
- Data Sharing
We may share information with:
- Firebase for analytics and crash reporting.
- Shake SDK for bug reporting.
- Legal authorities when required by law.
We do not sell personal data.
- Data Retention
- Downloaded maps, waypoints, and tracks remain locally on your device until you delete them.
- Firebase analytics and crash logs are retained according to Google and Apple’s policies.
- You may request account deletion — see Section 9.
- Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
- Security
We use reasonable safeguards (including encrypted storage for credentials) to protect data. No method is 100% secure.

You may:
- Access or delete your account data by contacting support.
- Delete locally stored maps, tracks, and waypoints from within the app.
- Revoke permissions (location, notifications, storage) via device settings.
- Request account/data deletion by emailing info@strikelines.com.
- Permissions Used by the App
The App may request permissions such as:
- Location (foreground and background) – for maps, navigation, and track recording.
- Notifications – for download status and track recording alerts.
- Storage/Files access – for GPX import/export functionality.
- Internet/Network access – for downloading purchased charts and syncing.
On Android, specific permissions include ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION, POST_NOTIFICATIONS, and READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE.
On iOS, permissions are requested and managed via system settings.
- App Tracking Transparency
We do not track users across other companies’ apps or websites for advertising purposes. Firebase and Shake SDK are used only for analytics, crash reporting, and bug reporting.
- Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted with an updated “Effective Date.”
