Here’s a free sample chart that shows how we use side-scan sonar to map out part of the Elbow in federal waters.
We use high-resolution side-scan sonar data to search for cool structure. When we find something, we mark the spot, give it a name, and then trace out the structure with simplified lines. Then we convert these lines and points into electronic chart files that can be downloaded directly into your boat’s GPS.
