Here’s a free sample chart that shows how we use side-scan sonar to map out a cool ledges in state waters near St. Pete.
We use high-resolution side-scan sonar data to search for promising structure. When we find something, we mark up the spot, give it a name, and then trace out the structure with simplified lines. Then we convert these lines and points into electronic chart files that can be downloaded directly into your boat’s GPS. Lines have been omitted from this sample to allow better viewing of the underlying imagery.
